art

The aim of art is not to represent the outward appearance of things,
but their inward significance.

"Remember, we have to do this in unison."

"Let's try again on the count of three!"

"That's better! But let's keep the line straight!"

leftovers

As you can tell from my posts, I'm still editing shots from my last Blue Cloud trip.
I'm trying to do them chronologically, but here are a few that I like better than the ones posted earlier. I'll let you be the judge.
Presented for your consideration are a couple of more ugly fish (I'm told, carp), a Ring-necked Pheasant rooster, and a Cliff Swallow.

new iPhone

Well, I did it! Picked up a new iPhone this morning.
A couple of days ago I posted a link to a NY Times article reviewing some of the new features.
I haven't had a chance to try most of them -- I'm especially eager to test the new video capture.
I have posted a couple of pictures I took earlier this evening on my other blog. Take a look and judge for yourself. Remember, this is from a 2.5"x4.5", less than 1/2" inch thick cell phone.

"Wait, which one is mine?"

iPhone 3G S

Since I post many photos taken with my iPhone on blogs and Twitter, I was happy to see that I should be eligible to upgrade to the new phone at new buyer rates. The new features on the 3G S will make the change worthwhile. The camera is upgraded to 3 megapixels with exposure, white balance, and focusing adjustments. Read more here.

digibinning

If you have wanted to try digiscoping but do not have a top-notch scope, you may want to take a look at digibinning, taking photos through your binoculars. For a description of the method take a look at this post at Discovering Alpine Birds .
