last of the series
We have finally come to the end of the photos I took during my last visit to eastern South Dakota and Blue Cloud Abbey. On my last full day, as I was driving back to the Abbey, I was greeted by some strange looking cattle. Later I was told they were Yaks.
"You talkin' to me!"
"That was some party last night, wasn't it Mabel?"

Sandhill Cranes -- I can't believe it

work

American Bittern
Until this Spring I had not seen a Bittern, much less photographed one. Last May, in a marsh just west of Milbank, South Dakota, I came upon this pair with obviously amorous intentions. Later, the same marsh disclosed what I presume to be a third bittern.
