Red-winged Blackbirds

Last Wednesday at Springbrook I was surprised to see a flock of male Red-winged Blackbirds passing through. The previous week there were none.

It was just after sunrise and the temp was well below freezing!

"Hey! I can walk on water!"

What I found interesting was that they were displaying some of the same territorial behavior that we see in the spring.
